(John) What does your firm do?
(Robert) We have pioneered a new class of job hunting assistance that is focused on making job hunting easier, faster and more effective. It involves several primary services.
(1) We are dedicated to creating the world's finest presentations for any professional, manager or executive; (2) we create and host excellent marketing websites to enhance a person's communications and make job hunting faster; and (3) we have pioneered some revolutionary technol- ogy to connect people with the openings, leads and contacts they need to be successful.
(John) Why did you create your firm?
(Robert) For most people, job hunting is a long process... full of strain, confusion and worry. When the Internet came along, we could see that advance- ments in technology could revolutionize job hunting. They would make a job search much easier and faster. Given the importance of a person's career, we felt this was worth a major investment.
We formed the company in 1998. Originally 20 of our founders had been involved in various aspects of the recruiting and employment fields. We now have a staff of approximately 500 specialists who are involved with assisting our clients.
The company has 35 officers who are managing directors and a sizeable staff. These include senior consultants, marketing directors, IT staff, database and client service specialists, programmers and so on. The company has over 75 employee sharehold- ers who own the firm.
(John) Who are your clients?
(Robert) In the beginning we just served high level individuals. For example, CEOs, university presi- dents, senior officers leaving the military, celebrities, professional athletes... and others. But in the last five years, we have broadened our client base to include people seeking professional positions at all levels from $80,000 to $500,000+.
(John) Do you have corporate clients?
(Robert) Yes, but the major part of our business is our private practice where we work with people seeking new positions in the U.S. We have also begun working with people who are looking for new positions on an international basis.
(John) How good is your track record... and do you guarantee your service?
(Robert) No ethical person can guarantee anyone that they will get the right job. However, we do back up our services with some very strong guarantees.
First, when we develop a person's marketing plan, write their several presentations and create their marketing website, we guarantee their satisfaction with a money back guarantee. In practice, less than 1% of all clients are not satisfied, so it's a good busi- ness practice because it gives all of our clients a degree of comfort.
Secondly, we also offer a strong performance guarantee. If a client doesn't land the right new posi- tion within 90 days... we will assign a new team to analyze everything, do a new marketing plan, along with all new presentations,a dozen strategic market- ing letters, and a new website. This too is necessary in only a small fraction of all engagements, so it is a record we are proud of.
